Thyme In Culpeper started in 1995, when John Yarnall relocated his It's About Thyme French restaurant from Philadelphia to Culpeper and changed its menu to broader European fare. John's two oldest daughters, Joclyn and Jodi, have grown up in the restaurant business. After graduating from West Chester University and completing her Chef training at Cordon Bleu in Paris, Joclyn returned to the restaurant in 2004 as its Head Chef. After graduating from Penn State and working in Florida, Jodi returned to It's About Thyme in 2007 as its House Manager. Finally, Connie East joined the Yarnall family in 1997. Having spent most of her time managing the front of the house at lt's About Thyme, Connie moved over to manage the Thyme Market when it opened in 2007.
In 2007, John expanded his culinary offering by opening the Thyme Market next to the It's About Thyme restaurant. The Thyme Market offers a European style take out market with three up-scale overnight suites above the market.
2010 represents another milestone year for the Yarnalls as they recently opened The Copper Fish seafood market and raw bar to fulfill the area's need for fresh seafood and an upscale raw bar. The Copper Fish is adjacent to the Thyme Market and guests can order off either, or both, menus. Above the Copper Fish, two additional overnight suites have been added to offer guests a truly spectacular lodging experience. Finally, 2010 also saw the Yarnalls expand into providing the business traveler a better experience in Culpeper by developing two Executive Suites geared to the extended stay requirements of many business travelers to the Culpeper area.
The Yarnalls pride themselves in serving some of the finest food available, and providing a wonderful total hospitality experience that leaves customers looking forward to their next visit. Please visit other areas of this site to view everything that encompasses Thyme In Culpeper.
